Laurel East Love

I was unpacking yet again this morning and I found a silly poem I wrote last year while riding the bus up to campus. Inspired by actual events, here it is, (almost) unedited and unabridged...

Laurel East Love

Math Homework Boy,
You look good to me now
Your hipster belt
And your Chris Martin smile
Armed with you Papermate pen
And your calculus book
You can do it Math Homework Boy!
On the bus, on your way to class
Five minutes before it is due
WIth your TI-83
Nothing can stop you now
So this is the story of my Laurel East love
I shall tell my children the woeful tale
Of the Math Homework Boy I once loved
For 15 minutes on the bus.
Our unspoken love came to an end.
I had my meeting, he had his class.
But in those minutes our love would not cease
And in my heart it shall always remain.
I love you random stranger on the bus.
I love you Math Homework Boy.
